The Rewild K1 Trap is a humane animal trap designed and manufactured in Aotearoa New Zealand for the eradication of small mammal pest and predators. The Rewild K1 Trap has achieved NAWAC (National Animal Welfare Advisory Committee) passes for the safe and humane eradication of Ferrets, Stoats, Rats and Hedgehogs (NZ target species), and had significant success with Weasels. It also has approval from DOC for use on Public conservation Land (PCL).
The Rewild K1 Trap is a very powerful, yet light weight and safe to use trap. It is the only trap on the market that incorporates an active safety mechanism and capture flag and requires no additional tools or enclosures for safe operation.
The use of the lid as the setting mechanism makes the trap very easy and safe to use, particularly for people that lack strength or find the more traditional styles of traps to be intimidating or difficult to set - making it the ideal choice for volunteer and community-led conservation.
